From the wonderful world of WorldCon in the land of Baltimore. Out of the following projects the ones I know the least about is this Henson project called OUTWORLD, and then the CGI SINBAD flick. I'd love to see more on these two. But here ya go...
This is The Longshot from Baltimore reporting on the news here. I just came out of a coming attractions presentation. I didn't write things down, so I'm going to do a brief overview of what I though was cool.
Jim Henson projects: They did scetches, artwork and models for a space adventure. I think it is called "Outworld" but I don't remember. Very cool. They also have a TV show on UPN comming out called "Children of the Lost Nebula", a goofy "Thunderbirds meets Fraggle Rock meets Dark Crystal" thing. I'd have to see more....
Sinbad CGI film: Haven't even heard of this one. They showed a clip of it of Sinbad defending a woman from a Giant Spider. Most realistic CGI I have seen yet. Lots of names involved too. (Leonard Nimoy, Mark Hamil, John Rhys-Daves, and Brenden Fraiser as Sinbad.) Date is sometime next year. Very cool....
Pleasantville: I want to see this now! Two kids get sucked into a "Ozzy and Hariet" TV show and their actions affect that reality. Great scenes of "Colorized" actors amonst B/W ones and shocked looks when things aren't "Perfect" anymore. William H. Macy, Reese Witherspoon.
Blade Trailer and behind the scenes: Wesley Snipes looks like a badass in this film. Effects look cool.
Vampires Trailer and scenes from the film: Very cool. Yep, sure is a John Carpenter film. Trailer said October 1998.
Free Enterprise trailer: A perfect con film it looks like. All the good references. The guy said that they are still looking for a distributor...
What Dreams May Come: I want to see this now! Actually, it is on the schedual here on Saturday, actually it will be my next report.
What Dreams May Come will be on Saturday here and another, more detailed Coming Attractions will be coming on Sunday.
