Well this news depresses me. Why? Well I like Beltrami's MIMIC score, but I'm not a big fan of his SCREAM work. But that ain't the reason I'm a little down about this. Ya see Robert and I often talked about the type of score THE FACULTY would have, and since Robert was always playing John Carpenter music on his headphones and his guitar, well I openly campaigned for him to get Carpenter to score his film. Yes, I know Carpenter doesn't typically score other people's films, but dag dang it, it would just be sooooo cool. Besides there was just a part of me that wanted to hear Carpenter tones when I was on screen. Oh well. Shucks. I know Robert has been cutting the film in temp form with Carpenter, so hopefully that's the sound that Beltrami will give us.
This is Alberto Salazar, the Mexican Bela Lugosi, in full info/gossip mode!
Harry,
Since you are IN this movie I think it will be of particular interest to you to find out that the music composer for THE FACULTY will be non other than the superbly talented and extermely appropriate MARCO BELTRAMI, who did such a good job on MIMIC and the SCREAM films. My source is rock solid and is NOT anything you'll be expecting. (I figure you'll have your theories on how I found out but it is NOT THAT believe me). Anyhoo...
