Well folks, if this doesn't get ya excited, I don't know what will. I'm slobbery. I hate it when I get this way, drool dries in my beard, matting it all down, it's really disgusting. Harry , I've just spent the best three hours of my life(OK maybe not my life but a good time anyway). Harry what I am layin" on ya is some news on the products for Episode 1, a good old friend works for a certain company which will be knee deep in SW goodies come next summer, no it's not Kenner, although they will be in bed with Kenner for a little prequel doodad which us geeks will be stalking the markets for........
Anyway the big news is that he/she saw some rough scenes and stills from THE MOVIE! They were still in a bit of a daze and said in all honesty it was beyond there dreams of a new SW flick.
The major images they brought back is that it had the feel of an old fashion Flash Gordon movie with all the sleek lines and colorful costumes. This was one of the main points THE COLORS! aaaaaaaaaaah the colors like nothing we have seen on screen for a long time.
The look of some of it was a bit Fifth Element like as far as the design for the Naboo locals,but the Tatooine scenes were vintage SW!
The main villians are scary with their Sith Lord robes and evil"faces". The greatest vision was of the Jedi in all their glory!
What follows is in the area of "spoilers"
The Falcon is flown by Obi-Wan at some point in the movie, which makes the line "Should I have?" one of the reasons the new films are going to change our perceptions.
I'm sorry if this rambles but I really am trying to give you all the dish. The over all view is that this film is special and will be a cause for people to come together again in the darkness of the movie house.
The only fear my source had was about young Jake alot of the films deals with him and it is a tough thing if people are hoping for a nother deep SW movie this one is not it , think a big summer blockbuster with a wonderful story ( as much a the source could gather- remember this was to get the companies ready to roll out the goodies this fall.) and the greatest creatures you have ever seen!
Well I hope this puts people in a good frame of mind the vast rumors are false the story is fairly simple remember the past in the SW universe is how we get to " A New Hope"
Oh yeah keep your eyes on the screens come this Halloween that is when the first teasers will begin. Bank on it! And start saving the bucks , it is gonna be a bumpy ride.........call me R5Cmore.......
P.S. the fast food tie-in are going to be the best, too many to mention you'll be eating alot of gordidas!!!
