Does Mary Jane Watson have a death wish' Dunst thinks so!!!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a bit from an Australian junket interview promoting SPIDER-MAN 2. Kirsten Dunst was interviewed and dropped a few bombs about her feelings on where the character should go and what her fate in the series is after SPIDER-MAN 3. I pulled out the below segment of Paul Fischer's story that directly relates. To read the whole thing, which I recommend, click here!!!

"The next one will be it. I'm only contracted to 3 and don't see myself signing for a 4th or a 5th," says Dunst, emphatically. Asked if she would love to see her Mary Jane character killed off in Spider-Man 3, Dunst laughs. "It would actually be really interesting if SPIDER-MAN died. Why doesn't the superhero ever die? I think if Mary Jane was alone, pregnant and he died, she could give birth to a spider baby and carry on the series with another young boy or something like that. I doubt Tobey Maguire would come back for a 4th or a 5th either."

Well, that kinda pisses me off just a tad. I haven't been totally sold on Dunsts as MJ, although she won herself a little headway with the perfect delivery of "Go get 'em, Tiger" in SPIDER-MAN 2. I always thought she'd be perfect as Gwen Stacy and now that she's jumping ship it would have been perfect to end it with her death, especially if they bring back Green Goblin which it seems they're keen on doing judging by the "discovery" scene with Harry Osborne.

If they do something stupid like kill off MJ or that retarded idea she had about killing SPIDER-MAN, just watch the crowd turn from adoring to blood-thirsty. Dunst may not have read the comics, but there are a whole lotta Spidey comic lovin' motherfuckers out there. If the stars want to jump ship after the next movie, then hire others. I'm sure the THAT '70s SHOW chick wouldn't mind taking a stab at MJ... Sigh... Sorry for the grumpy rumblings. I might be overreacting to her statements. Nothing is official, keep that in mind. There's not even a script for the Third film, yet, so just take this as one actress' musings.
