Just got this info in from secret agent OVALTINE who was tuned into a local radio station trying to win a cup of Little Orphan Annie, but it turned out that it was only ANNE RICE on the vacuum tubes. And so he forwarded the info on to us. Take a gander and I'll talk at you under the Ovaltine report!!!
Two minutes ago, during an Anne Rice appearance on the Massachusetts radio program The Howie Carr show, Anne mentioned to a call-in listener that James Cameron is working on a screenplay for her novel MUMMY. Is this his next project after Titanic? How close to production is the film? Is the screenplay finished already? None of these questions were answered. She did mention, however that she thinks JC is ''marvelous'' and is doing a wonderful job.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, do you think maybe this'll be next? I don't know. Jim has a lot of irons he can take a whack at. Though I think fans (well at least me anyway) really want to see Cameron take on SPIDERMAN next. I wonder if MGM opening Tomorrow Never Dies opposite Cameron's TITANIC has created any animosity between the two. Hmmmmmmm. It won't be AVATAR, that project isn't really technically feasible next, so that leaves us with THE MUMMY, SPIDERMAN, TRUE LIES 2 and then there is always the concept that he'll surprise with something entirely different. It does seem like T3 is out of the running.
