Hey there... Quint here with a quick update on the film that I fell in love with at the Santa Barbara Film Festival, LOVE'S BROTHER, written and directed by Jan Sardi (SHINE), shot by Andrew Lesnie (LOTR) and starring Giovanni Ribisi (at his best), Adam Garcia (also at his best) and Amelia Warner (hottie supreme). I called that film the pick of the Santa Barbara Film Festival and it turns out the people running WorldFest-Houston agree with me.
I was in attendance tonight as the film was awarded the Best of the Fest. Unfortunately there weren't too many people in the audience, so I thought I'd put the call out to all you Houston area readers. This film is playing Monday at 7:15pm at the AMC Meyer Park Theater located at Loop 610 West South and South Post Oak Boulevard. Director Jan Sardi will be there, so you can bug him about his Aussie accent!
LOVE'S BROTHER is a love story between a beautiful girl and two brothers. At this moment, the film doesn't have any US Distribution and that's a crying shame because it tops every other love story (with the possible exception of SHAUN OF THE DEAD) I've seen this year... But that just means this could be you Houston readers' only opportunity to catch this flick in the theaters.
Tickets are $7.50 and worth every penny. If you're tired of the same old same old studio love stories, give this flick a shot. Made with a touch of magic by a filmmaker who's in love with filmmaking, this flick harkens back to a classic era of movies. You'd be hard pressed to find a better romantic comedy this year.
Just wanted to give you folks a heads up! Click here to check out the trailer, but be warned... it doesn't do the film justice, but you will get a sense of the story and a glimpse at the beautiful cinematography by Andrew Lesnie. Enjoy!
