Nicotine-Patch Man just reported seeing Mr Clove Cigarette man himself, William B Davis. And allegedly he talked about the X-FILES movie. So check it out folks:
Hey Harry. I just saw William B. Davis, a.k.a. "Cigarette Smoking Man" speak at Loyola University in New Orleans and he let a few details slip about the upcoming film and show. I hope you find some of it interesting but if you already know then I apologize for wasting your time.
First of all, he was very laid back and funny which was difficult to reconcile with his mysterious and evil character. He answered all of our questions after talking about the show and his approach to it as an actor. He said he couldn't imagine the film being an R-rated movie. He also said that while it will follow the cliffhanger ending of this coming season it stands on its own and he thought the writing was "brilliant". He let it slip that his character sacrificed one of his children and that he had a serious relationship with Mrs. Mulder at one point. Mr. Davis also seemed to deny that he was Mulder's father to the best of his present knowledge. Finally he said that the plan is for this movie to be the first in a series, opening the X-Files up to new possibilities but that, while no contracts have been signed, a sixth season seems extremely likely.
