TRILOGY TUESDAY - Austin Line Report!

Hey folks, Harry here... I've had my tickets for Trilogy Tuesday secured for what seems like forever now, but Monday night at dinner... Father Geek and I began fretting over getting a bad seat. It seems that all our friends whom we secured tickets for were getting all schizo over... getting their asses in line, just a couple of hours early, and we decided that if our friends were PUSSYS, that we'd have to be real GEEKS and weather the line, whatever it may be. So we headed out to the GATEWAY THEATER here in Austin, and sure enough...

And that guy was in line... I'm calling him Aragorn, cuz in mere moments he'll be donning icy cold chainmail and his Aragorn outfit and his flame of the west and just rule the line as a true "FIRST" should. He got there at 10am Monday and was the solitary Tolkein geek till...

8pm when that guy showed up. I've seen him before... He was in the gigantic PHANTOM MENACE line years ago. I took this picture of him with my cool 007 Lighter Digital Camera... He thought that was cool, then to render my tech advantage utterly null and void he whips out his cel phone and shows me widescreen MATRIX playing on it and tells me... he has MATRIX, TERMINATOR 2 and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN all on his Cel phone. I stare at him like he's a god. My mind boggles at his technical superiority. My lighter digital camera is like a broken reed before his geek wind. And in 3rd place in line...

Is me. I got there at about 9pm, got in line, and then a whole host of people filed in behind... beautiful geek women there to oogle... well us three line leaders obviously... and endure having to glimpse at the chick with the bow that makes you feel like 20 minutes in a candle shop in these movies!

The temp has been low low 40s with insane wind gusts making the weather feel sub-freezing. At 5:30am Father Geek and I let...

the Crusty Seaman hold our spot while we took warm showers, got warmer clothes and supplies... as when we arrived, we didn't have adequate clothing, but due to natural insulation and whale blubber, we endured. We've survived the sprinklers and jackasses driving by and throwing out Black Cat fire crackers in a halfassed attempt to get a rise out of the line... we just laughed.

Well, it's time to get back to the line... god I love lines, freezing with others is such a noble thing! And to see THE LORD OF THE RINGS all at once... I've never been a part of a more noble line. Be back tomorrow!
