THIS EVENT IS NOW FULL!!! NO MORE SEATS AVAILABLE!!!
Hey folks, Harry here... One of my absolute favorite films I've seen this year has been AMERICAN SPLENDOR. I've seen it several times here in Austin, but that's not enough. A couple of weeks ago I got a call from the folks at FINE LINE asking if I'd like to host a double feature in New York City of AMERICAN SPLENDOR and REVENGE OF THE NERDS. My instant reaction was... "YES!" I haven't seen REVENGE OF THE NERDS in a VERY LONG TIME... and after having watched Toby and Harvey argue the merits of REVENGE OF THE NERDS in AMERICAN SPLENDOR, several times... I've been very anxious to see it.
If you haven't seen AMERICAN SPLENDOR, then this is definitely the way to catch it. It is not only a brilliant film, but one that cries out to be discovered on the silver screen! They tell me we'll have special guests, but I'd like to turn this up a notch. I DARE YOU to come in a plain white button up shirt, bowtie, pocket protector loaded with pens and mechanical pencils and a calculator. Before the screening of REVENGE OF THE NERDS - I want to lead us all in our very best Robert Carradine NERD LAUGH! If you wear glasses, wrap white tape in the middle of the bridge!
This is not only a screening of a brilliant modern film, but a chance to celebrate that glorious film that first told many of us, that Nerds can get HAIR PIE!!!! Admission is FREE and there's only like 250 seats or something, so send in your RSVP NOW... CALL 1st thing at 9AM in the morning. I will see you there! Remember, today at work... think... "This is bullshit... I WANT BUSH!" and smile... cuz you ain't thinking politics Booger!
See You There! MONDAY the 10th of November... New York - Start Spreading the News!
American Splendor – 6:30pm
Revenge of the Nerds – 9:00pm
NO More Room, Harry ate 3 more doughnuts - the place is full!
BTW... this same theater, every Friday and Saturday Night at Midnight puts on an outrageous performance/film showing of ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, if you've never seen it with a "proper" audience, you should go check it out. I'm not involved with that, just figured I'd put that out there though!
