Hey folks, Harry here... I love BEFORE SUNRISE, I love that film in a marrow of my bones sort of way. It is the most real "girl meets boy" film I've ever seen. It completely gets that two lonely souls that bump into one another and there is that real connection, that magical kismet thing going on. That conversation that just is filled with giggles and joy, that is intimate yet new. Linklater has wanted to do a sequel to this forever. It's like... if he ever gets a chance to do his MATA HARI film... dammit... This sequel will take place 9 years after the intial meeting. I wonder... if the title is BEFORE SUNRISE 2... or something like AFTER SUNSET? Hmmmm... Whatever the case, I'm there. The film is to deal with romance very realistically... 9 years later... have they stayed in contact? Or did they finally just stumble back into each other, and there's all the growth since their last meeting. Perhaps one or both is married now. I'm so curious about this film, but so really don't want to know a thing until I see it. This film will be a treat.
Yesterday Richard Linklater told me that he, Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy just finished shooting the follow-up to "Before Sunrise" in Paris. The untitled film takes place 9 years after the events of the first movie. "It deals with the romance very realistically," he said.
