Hey folks, Harry here with a film by Vincenzo Natali that sounds like a certain amount of bizarre bliss. Titled NOTHING, the premise has me curious to see it right now. Watching NOTHING may in fact be a truly Zen experience. We'll have to eagerly await NOTHING! Here's Stoopid Boy to fill you in about NOTHING...
Hey Harry.
I noticed that no one has done a reveiw of "Nothing" yet, so I wrote one up if you'd like to use it. The movie honestly was one of the best ones I've seen in a long time. I hope you put it up, because it really does deserve any press it gets.
Thanks a lot:
A couple of days ago I was fortunate enough to watch one of the most entertaining movies that I have seen in my life. To make it even better... It was a CANADIAN film!
I usually try to see a couple of Canadian films each year... You know... Gotta support the team. I was not expecting, however, to find such an all-around GREAT movie.
It is called "NOTHING" and it is the first comedy by Director Vincenzo Natali (Cube, Cypher). His first outing really is incredible, and proves that he is more than just a one-trick pony.
By the way... I must say, he is a really great guy. He was funny and entertaining before and after the film, he seemed genuinely interested in hearing what people had to say about the film... AND he was more than willing to stick around and talk individually after the Q&A with anyone who wanted to. Great Guy. But I digress...
Written by Andrew Lowery and Andrew Miller, Starring David Hewlett and Andrew Miller.
Everything about this movie was wonderful.
The best way to describe it is... what "Gerry" would be like if it were Directed by Terry Gilliam. It was 90 Minutes of PURE Brilliance!
I canÃt say enough good things about the two lead actors. Hewlett and Miller had such a great chemistry together... And the characters they were playing seems to have been written perfectly for them (quite possible since Miller DID write it). They were imaginative, hilarious, clever, and real.
After accidentally wishing the world away, the two of them find themselves stuck in an infinite expanse of white nothingness which looks, feel, and bounces like Tofu. They are then forced to deal with their new life in the middle of an antisocial paradise. No people at all... But they still have cable, their X-Box, and their pet Turtle.
The CGI in this film was GREAT! It really looked great for such a small film. If it were bad, it could have killed the whole movie.
If this movie ever finds a distributor I cannot recommend it enough! It was one of the funniest films I've ever seen.
If you ever hear that this movie is playing ANYWHERE near you... GO AND SEE IT! YOU WILL NOT BE LET DOWN. Trust me. (and if you can't trust a stranger over the internet... who can you trust)
Thank you for your time.
Call me... Stoopid Boy
