Whoa! It's a new decade... time to re-make INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS again!

Hey folks, Harry here... In a timeless American tale that seems to be significant to each and every generation, INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS is set to be re-made.... again.

While there is no screenplay yet, it is not expected to be about a strange change in Americans suddenly becoming illogical automatons goose-stepping to a seeming communal conspiracy to become conquerors of the world... instead, it will focus on Female lead character in a small town where... you guessed it, everybody seems to be changing.

While only officially being remade for the 3rd time... it's been done a helluvalot more than that unofficially. I love the original 50's classic by Don Siegel, but honestly my fave has always been the brilliant 1978 remake by Philip Kaufman, which I have a beautiful 16mm print of. The tagline, "You'll never close your eyes again." gets me everytime. Also, I just love all the performances in that film, and W.D. Richter just knocked that screenplay out of the park. "If its a caper, eat it!" I honestly don't believe you'll ever get a better cast or script than what Kaufman came up with. Absolutely fantastic!

Abel Ferrara did a mediocre remake in 1993 - which was notable really for just the bathtub scene. That was a really great scene. But frankly... that's all there really was to add to it.

The unofficial remakes were THE BRAIN EATERS, THE FACULTY, SEEDPEOPLE, THE STEPFORD WIVES and well... alot of others. Endlessly parodied on TV, cartoons, skits and everywhere... but there's something that keeps the story returning. Personally, I love any film that is about QUESTIONING AUTHORITY! That's a good thing.
