Eastwood to saddle up for one LAST RIDE WEST'

Hey folks, Harry here... I absolutely love the Western. The history of Hollywood Westerns have been metaphors for all the changes we've seen in this country of ours over the past century. From racism to sexism to the dominance of the technological revolution to even terrorism... It has all been reflected in the cold steely eyes of them in the hats and twirling the guns of the old west. Many feel that Eastwood put the punctuation on the genre with UNFORGIVEN, but now... well Kevin Costner has turned in a really wonderful Western called OPEN RANGE, about the rich subjugating the little people through manipulation and control of law enforcement and force. Then this Christmas we'll have a new look at THE ALAMO. Then Ron Howard will bring us THE MISSING... and we'll have to wait and see what the metaphor in that one is brought out. But for now... Now my eyes are gleaming and ears perked up at the one man alive today that embodies what the Western was and is in the last half century. Clint Eastwood. Snake-Eyes. Blondie. The man with no name. This is OFFICIALLY a rumor. We'll work to get it confirmed, but it looks as if John Logan... the genius behind the scripts for RKO 281, GLADIATOR, THE AVIATOR... and the hack behind the scripts for BATS, THE TIME MACHINE and STAR TREK: NEMESIS... well, it looks like he's going to be doing the script duties if this report is to be believed. No matter... Eastwood in a saddle or with the most powerful handgun in the world... well that always interests me.

Hello Harry,

I am a shadow who works in between the Matrix walls of Warner Bros. I have it on very high authority that Clint Eastwood might get back in the saddle one last time. The project is called LAST RIDE WEST which follows an aging cowboy who crosses the frontier near its end one last with a bunch of settlers heading to California and has to deal with how his way of life is coming to an end. John Logan is currently writing the screenplay and old Clint is going to star in, direct, and produce the film if all goes well. Sounds good to me. I think we can always use another good Clint Eastwood western.
