Hey folks, Harry here... Actually I take zero credit for making this change. In phone conversations for the better part of a year I bitched and moaned about what they were doing to SHAOLIN SOCCER, but frankly... what changed their minds was a series of terrible test screenings of the Dubbed print with the new score - which just didn't work. I wish still that Miramax would submit an unchanged at all print to the MPAA to see what the rating would be, because I really can't imagine the MPAA giving the film an R-rating. Male butt-cheeks are not grounds for an R-rating, especially in the comedic way they're exposed - hell, if memory serves there's naked male butt-cheeks in HOT LEAD AND COLD FEET and that got a Disney PG. And all the violence is really done with a soccer ball and isn't very realistic AT ALL. Well, getting this in theaters in its original language is great - I just hope they plan to actually do a strong push for the film. At this point, my only fear is that they've waited too long to release it. However, if the film opens in your area - BE SURE TO SUPPORT IT! Take everyone you know and have a great time, this movie kicks ass hard!

Thanks for your rant regarding Shaolin Soccer. It got them to change the North American release title from the ridiculous Kung Fu Soccer to the original title.
It now appears that Miramax has scrapped their idea to released a dubbed version of the movie. They are going to do a limited release beginning Sept. 5 with only a few minor changes to ensure a PG-13 rating.
