Man, I’m conflicted about this one. I want to hate it. I want to be able to just have a knee-jerk reaction, like a good little fanboy, and say it’s going to suck.
But... but... but I like the trailer.

For someone who knows the original inside out, there’s a lot of that trailer that really makes your brain feel like it’s folding in half. It’s enormously faithful. Only... it’s not. The details are totally different. But there’s the steel door. Oh, god... that steel door. And the sounds. You know which ones I mean...
All I know is, I’m going to the Egyptian in August, when the American Cinematheque is presenting a brand-new 35mm strike print of the original TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE in all its glory with Tobe Hooper in attendance.
And, yeah... I’m going to see this one, too.
And I hope to god I enjoy them both.
