Hi, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab...
So there’s been a lot of noise the last few days about how Christopher Walken and Michael Keaton are both up for the role of Willy Wonka in Tim Burton’s adaptation of CHARLIE & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. Personally, I think Crispin Glover is the only man suitable to fill the shoes of Gene Wilder in one of his very best roles, but no one at Warner Bros. has the vision to hire someone like Glover. I’m not sure about either Walken or Keaton. I like both guys, but as Wonka? The role’s been played perfectly once... it’s going to take a casting miracle to make me care again.
In the meantime, check this out:
Hey Harry,
Ryan from Mukmouth here.
Boy did this email get us excited!
Here's what we ran at 'Mukmouth'
"Well the net is alive with the sound of Wonka, everything from casting rumours to title speculation is flooding movie sites. But we've got something extra cool!! A guy calling himself 'The Mayor' emailed us late yesterday evening with something a little unexpected, CONCEPT SKETCHES FROM GOD!! Now at this time, we dont really care how authentic they are, you gotta admit they're pretty damn cool, not to mention very "Burtonesque". Have a look for yourselves!! Not too sure what the second image is supposed to be, but we're hoping like hell it's an Oompa Loompa! Things are starting to get a little exciting!"
There's a couple more over at www.mukpuddy.com (mukmouth).
Hope they're of some interest
Peace out
Ryan
I have no idea if those are authentic designs for the upcoming Burton production or not. For right now, take it with a grain of salt. If they are, though, then that’s a pretty cool sneak peek, eh?
Thanks for the heads-up, Ryan.
"Moriarty" out.
