Live Action AEON FLUX to shoot in Brazil!

Hey folks, Harry here... from Brazil... actually Brasilia... we get word about the location for AEON FLUX the live action film that's being made. What is cool about this article is that Renato has sent links to some of the amazing architectural wonders of Brasilia - which I have to say - blew me away. Check these out and just imagine what with a bit of digital trickery added to it all, just how beautifully bizarre the last human city of Bregna will be! Here ya go...

Harry,

I know this is cliché but: long time reader first time poster. Don't know if any brazilian sent you this already but it seems that the capital city of Brazil (HA! It isn't Buenos Aires) is going to be a major setting for a big budget movie. Yahoo! Brazil News has a story about the producers of the movie Aeon Flux visiting Brasilia.

The city was contructed between 1956-60 by the government to bring progress to the central-west region of the country. Influenced by the modernist ideals of the french architect Le Corbusier, the architects Lucio Costa (city planner) and Oscar Niemeyer (designer of buildings) created a remarkable city, ultimate simbol of the modernist architecture. It seems that the producers are looking for some kind of futurist setting for last human city of Bregna, and Brasilia, with its "future of the past" architecture is perfect for it.

As a brazilian architecture student I have to say that this is a little odd, but it is also a good way to make people around the world notice this incredible work of the master Niemeyer (he has his flaws but he is a master, no doubt about that). Hope this brief explanation about Brasilia is helpful.
