Hey folks, Harry here... Well, it had to happen... After Stephen Norrington and Guillermo Del Toro directed David Goyer's scripts for BLADE and BLADE 2... With David Goyer taking his first step out from behind the keyboard with his absolutely fantastic ZIG ZAG last year... Everything has finally come together for the man that started the modern Marvel Age of Cinema with his BLADE script to finally take the reins completely and to direct BLADE 3.
According to Variety, it looks like BLADE 3 will begin shooting this summer. I've heard that essentially in the planning stage it was to take place further in the future of BLADE's timeline and was a bit of a I AM LEGEND type of storyline to it, but the trades say, "Blade must reverse an apocalyptic event that threatens to bring Earth into the Vampire's control."
Goyer will be replacing Oliver Hirschbiegel, the director of the fantastic DAS EXPERIMENT, who was rumored and I believe announced as negotiating to take the helm earlier. After watching Goyer's directorial debut, I'm convinced he is quite gifted as a director, perhaps moreso even than as a writer. The performance he got out of Wesley Snipes is frankly the best work I've seen out of Wesley. Seriously. Great work.
