Treb in Cannes on T4, TROMA, HUA MULAN w/ Chow & Yeoh! And much more!

Hey folks, Harry here... Still waiting to see some reviews from Cannes... Come on folks, let's hear about that Besson opener... What's been seen? As for T4... with the cost of T3, I don't think it's a guaranteed greenlight just yet. Though I know that the film was at one time structured to possibly leave way for a sequel, cuz stories never end...

Hey Harry,

Well, it's still pretty quiet here in Cannes. Penelope Cruz arrived at her Premiere last night WITHOUT the Cruise Missile. It was said that he would take all the attention away from the 'fan fan' movie, (which wouldnt have been a bad thing), so Mini Cruz faced the music alone and she did extremely well.

She posed for a few paps, snapping her picture and then suddenly turned, pulled a throw away camera and took pictures of all of the reporters and cameramen, letting loose a neat laugh.

Today I met Mr. American Ninja and BloodSport video Guru, Menahem Golan. (i wanted to write Golem). The man who discovered Van Damme the man sat sweating in the video market place at the Palais said "What do you want little boy?" I told him I grew up on his movies and that I'm 28. "Still a boy to me my friend. Let's talk about my movies." He said. He was promoting some dodgy titled flick called Super Ninja and Final Combat, a bloodsport clone. Still trying to find that Van Damme gem all over again. I asked him what his favorite Cannes memory was and he simply said "My next movie."

Troma chief, Lloyd Kaufman, said 'hi' and to tell everybody who is in Cannes or who can get to Cannes for Monday May 19th at 3pm, outside the Carlton Hotel, along the Croisette, a huge presence of independent cinema will be marching and promoting, well, pretty much everything. Cameras from all around the world will be covering the event, so I aim to wave my AICN banner in front of all!

Okay, so revealed today, joining Vajna & Kasar's T3: Rise Of The Machines, Intermedia stated: ".. judging by the Studio's reaction to T3 when we screened to them five weeks ago, T4 looks like it will happen."

Chow Yun Fat is to join his Crouching Tiger co-star, Michelle Yeoh, in what was described as 'Braveheart meets Ran'. Produced by Yeoh's Mystical Films, movie Hua Mulan, is to be directed by Thomas Chung and naturally coreography duties is for Cory Yuen. It also has a script by Huang Wei Ling of Hidden Dragon fame.

Your friends and mine, ahem, Warner Bros, have completed a deal to film their own adaptation of Brit TV series Brideshead Revisited, the show that launched Jeremy Irons. It was stated by writer, Andrew Davies, it will be a more darker and hetrosexual take on author Evelyn Waugh's original novel.

I can't decide who is my fave Python member, but Eric Idle to take up directing duties again. He's gonna spoof Merchant Ivory to the max in his movie Remains Of The Piano. Robin Williams is expected to cameo, joning a cast that includes, Geoffrey Rush, Alfred Molina, Billy Connolly, Anjelica Huston, Orlando Bloom, Michael York, Neve Campbell, Patrick Stewart and the under-used Tim Curry.

Before I put more cream on my already burnt to a crisp ears, John Travolta has signed to play the villain to Thomas Jane' hero, The Punisher. He will play Howard Saint.
