Hey folks, Harry here... Coming off of the fantastic THE SALTON SEA, I have to say Val Kilmer playing the "Wonderland Murders-era" John Holmes is just absolutely fascinating. The sleaze and cockroach speckled universe that this story should be set in should play to all of Kilmer's strong points. This was Holmes in his most out of it, and with a supporting cast of Kate Bosworth, Lisa Kudrow, Christina Applegate, Josh Lucas, Tim Blake Nelson, Eric Bogosian, Carrie Fisher, Janeane Garofalo, Faizon Love, Dylan McDermott, Ted Levine and Natasha Gregson Wagner... well that's a helluva interesting cast. With the reviewer's putting it in that real feel of Res Dogs and Trainspotting, as opposed to the dream-reality of Boogie Nights... I can't wait to see this, but I must... the film isn't slated to hit the real world till late late September of this year, and then... only in limited release. Here ya go...

Hi There Harry,
Saw a screening of Wonderland last week and I thought I’d write in with my 2 cents. The film is about the Hollywood Wonderland murders circa 1981 and “famous” porn star John Holmes involvement.
Basically, the film is a murder mystery; completely un-sexy in every way. It is much closer to Reservoir Dogs/Trainspotting/Jackie Brown than Boogie nights.
The film unfolds from each characters perspective of the situation surrounding the Wonderland murders. The most intriguing aspect of the film is noticing the differences in each person’s story.
Val Kilmer plays John Holmes. I am not a Val Kilmer fan, but his performance was one partDirkDiggler five parts Jim Morrison. Nothing we haven’t seen before, but somewhat credible.
The most interesting performances come from the really incredible supporting cast. Josh Lucas (Sweet HomeAlabama) was great as an insane, drugged out psychopath. Tim Blake Nelson (The Good Girl) has a knack for bringing likeability to very greasy characters (much like Philip Seymore Hoffman sp?) and Kate Bosworth held her own (who the hell is she?).
There were a lot of GRAPHIC scenes, none of which contained any tits or ass (all contained blood and guts). In fact there was not one shred of nudity in the whole film.
Anyway, it is a decent film with some good points to it and some interesting direction. If you liked Rules Of Attraction or Killing Zoe you’d like this film.
Side note: Why can’t actors grow REAL mustaches and beards? The shit in this film looked SOOOOOO Fake it was embarrassing. I kept waiting for the glue to lose hold………
