Hello to the Land of Guinness! It is I, your biggest fan (literally) Harry here. I'm so curious to see what this film ends up being. Personally I really and truly believe that John Boorman's EXCALIBUR will reign supreme for all time. It is... genius. In fact, fuck it, I'm putting it on right now. It'll be curious to see how Fuqua handles this... Demystifying the Arthurian legend seems like a bad fucking idea to me. I like legends kept as legends. Something that John Ford taught me via Jimmy Stewart and John Wayne... a long time ago...

I Just thought i'd send you a snippet on a forthcoming film being made here in Ireland. Last week anarticle appeared calling for an open casting for the film KING ARTHUR. The call read as follows;
Film Extras are wanted for the epic tale of "King Arthur" to be filmed in Ardmore Studios, Bray.
100's of people are required at the following castings:
BRAY: Ardmore Studios, Bray Co. Wicklow 12 - 8.30pm (28th of April)
DUBLIN: The Factory Studio, 35a Barrow Street D.4 12 - 8.30pm (29th ofApril)
NAAS: The Moat Theatre, Naas Co. Kildare 12 - 8.30pm (30th of April)
No Children under 10 years of age
So naturally enough, with some time on my hands i decided to turn up to oneof the castings. What i can tell you is that KING ARTHUR is the REAL nameof the film and NOT a working title. It is not going to be called KA andt he Knights of the round table. Anyways, i turned up and was led into thecasting room, while in there i read some information relating to the film.
It is scheduled for filming entirely in Ireland from June to November 2003, thats a SIX MONTH SHOOT!!!!. We are taking grand scale here.They were looking for 100's of extras, battle scenes, castle scenes etc. King Arthur will film here this summer in co-operation with World 2000 Productions which has been responsible for such as Braveheart, Moll Flanders, Scarlett, The Old Curiosity Shop, Angela's Ashes, Reign of Fire,The Count of Monte Cristo.
The known cast include;
Clive Owen ('Gosford Park' and 'Croupier')is to play King Arthur.
Antoine Fuqua ('Training Day') will direct.
Stephen Dillane 'The Hours' will play Merlin in the movie, which is said to"demystify" the story of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table.
Anyways, i filled in all my details, contact information, and was measured for height, chest, waist, inner leg etc... all the tailoring you would need to knock up a good suit of armour!!!!. Experience details were taken, availability etc. My picture was taken an i was told i'd be contacted in 4 weeks!!!.
So there you have it, maybe sometime soon i'll be crossing swords with Clive Owen and Merlin.
