Hey folks, Harry here... According to sources that you don't even want to know about... There's life and death types of things going on here, but let's just say some folks were listening... I personally know and trust these folks without question. And this was coming out of McG's mouth personally.
McG is currently in talks with Warner Brothers about coming aboard and helming the JJ Abrams SUPERMAN project. The discussions are concerning whether or not he's right for the project (which he is) and whether this take on SUPERMAN is the take that should go forward. McG apparently sees SUPERMAN as one of the great myths... a story with Biblical and Shakespearean drama in it's best moments. And he is very much wanting to still work with J.J. Abrams on the project and deliver that planned trilogy.
Of course... if McG makes SUPERMAN, which according to corporate WB, they want shooting before the end of the year... ... ... ahem... .... well... it would just mean a delay in seeing McG's HOT WHEELS THE MOVIE, which just pisses me off because I wanna see HOT WHEELS!
