Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.
Not that it was nominated, but can’t a fanboy dream?
Anyway, here’s a quick recap:
Hi Harry,
First time blah, blah, blah...
I just thought I'd let you know how the HK Film Awards went. No real surprises with 'Hero' and 'Infernal Affairs' sweeping the boards.
'Infernal Affairs' picked up Best Film, Best Director(s) (Andrew Lau and Alan Mak), Best Actor (Tony Leung), Best Screenplay (Alan Mak and Felix Chong), Best Editing (Danny and Oxide Pang), Best Supporting Actor (Anthony Wong) and Best Song (Chan Kwong-wing and Lin Xi).
'Hero' unsurprisingly picked up most of the technical awards including Best Cinematography (Christopher Doyle), Best Art Direction (Huo Tingxiao and Yi Zhenzhou), Best Costumes and Make-Up (Emi Wada), Best Action Choreography (Tony Ching), Best Original Score (Tan Dun), Best Sound Design (Tao Jing) and Best Visual Effects (Ellen Poon, Murray Pope, Richard Schlein and Luke O'Brien).
The ceremony opened with a moving tribute to Leslie Cheung (Kit in A 'Better Tomorrow') who took his own life last week.
Cheers
Steve Withers
Man, I need to see both INFERNAL AFFAIRS and HERO, and as much as I appreciate all the e-mails about where to get the DVDs, I want to see them on big screens. *Sigh*
"Moriarty" out.
