Hercules Has Seen ALIAS 2.17!!

Alias 2.17 FAQ

What’s it called?

“A Dark Turn.”

Who’s responsible?

Teleplay is credited to Jesse Alexander (the movie “Eight Legged Freaks” and the two-parter “The Box”).

The big news?

Irina meets Marshall.

The far bigger news?

Arvin and Jack “shared a similar unsentimental patriotism... and a devotion to our wives,” Jack confesses to Irina. “But Sloane changed, and... it was Rambaldi that did it. I'm not sure what it is - he never told me - but Sloane has a personal connection to Rambaldi.”

What does TV Guide say?

“CIA rumors and the mysterious presence of a KGB agent have Sydney suspecting Vaughn's loyalties, while Jack's are tested by the strange and risky union he's forged with Irina to smoke out Sloane.”

For last week’s episode, TV Guide said “Vaughn uncovers a new enemy close to home and even closer to Syd than he imagined,” but this never happened. Does it happen this week?

Yes.

Does Vaughn learn that “Francie” is evil?

No.

Syd thinks Vaughn is a double agent? For the KGB?

He’s had unauthorized contact with former KGB agents without knowledge of the CIA (or Syd). Syd is accustomed to learning that someone close to her has been harboring important secrets.

Do we learn this week “Francie’s” true identity?

No.

Are “Francie” and Will trading fluids?

We see them in bed together nakedly. It’s not a dream, a hoax or an imaginary scene. “ … tonight you had the best sex of your life,” “Francie” tells Will.

Is Sloane going around microwaving his enemies?

Not this week.

What’s going on with Jack?

Big doings await Jack this episode.

Two episodes ago, Irina told Syd, “If you decide to stay [in the CIA], I won't agree to see you anymore.” Does Irina hold to her word for even two episodes?

No. “I wanted to see you because ... it's going to be dangerous setting this trap. I hope it goes well, but there's no guarantee.”

How’s Will adjusting to life as a CIA analyst?

He’s having bad dreams about revealing state secrets.

Is Diane Dixon sticking to her “it’s me or the job” edict?

Good question! No sign of either Dixon this week!

What’s good?

The revelation of that Sloane-Rambaldi connection. Will and Francie. Jack and Irina. Syd on ice. Richard Lewis, a million miles from the L.A. of “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” as a counter-intelligence threat analyst.

What’s not so good?

I don’t trust Irina as far as I can throw her; why would Sloane? Also? This week’s Rambaldi mcguffin, a study of the human heart, seems like one of the 14th century seer’s lamer creations.

Will there ever be an “Alias” episode as good as the genius installment that ran after the SuperBowl?

“I feel like this year we have an even better ending," series creator told zap2it.com here. "If you're a longtime or a new fan of the show, I think it will blow your mind. It's that feeling of I have a giant secret that I just can't wait for everyone to see." And after tonight it’s only five episodes away …

What was that prophecy again?

“This woman here depicted will possess unseen marks, signs that she will be the one to bring forth my works. Bind them with fury, a burning anger, unless prevented at vulgar cost. This woman will render the greatest power unto utter desolation.”

How does it end, spoiler-boy?

“Jack. It’s gone.”
