Hey folks, Harry here... I have been concerned that they'd pair Jackie Chan up with someone like Hugh Grant playing Phileas Fogg... I just didn't want to see him in that part. I wanted someone more adept at superiority and cockiness than him. And they've just cast STEVE COOGAN in the part! That's right the Manchester chap who believes he's it, is in fact it for AROUND THE WORLD IN EIGHTY DAYS. This is the film that'll make him a world renowned star. If you saw Steve in 24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE, then you know a tad of how great he can be, however... if you're a card carrying member and land locked resident of the U.K., then you're probably intimately familiar with his ingenius antics on the boob tube. just a quickie that you may/may not be aware of. Phileas Fogg has now been cast for the Around the World... movie. Your European readers will rejoice to learn that he will be played by Steve Coogan. For the US readers that are unfamiliar with the work of Mr Coogan, he is ***OFFICIALLY*** a genius and one of the funniest men on the planet. No, really. His film work includes Tony Wilson in 24 Hour Party People last year, and 2001's The Parole Officer, while on TV, he brought joy to all who witnessed as Alan Partridge ("Ah-haah") and brother and sister Paul and Pauline Calf. If you don't have a clue who he is, check out these recommendations - he is a truly blessed character comedian that should bring a whole new spin on the role of Fogg.
Not neccessarily earth-shattering now, but this is great news, especially with Jackie Chan also involved.
