Father Geek here... A tragic and senseless murder yesterday has claimed the life of motion picture and television actress LANA CLARKSON...
Most of the world was probably familar with Lana's beauty thru the many television ads she made over the years like Michael Bay's MERCEDES BENZ
commercials, or others like her work for BUDWEISER, KMART, CADILLAC, MATTEL, BUSCH BEER, HONDA, NIKE and of course those PLAYTEX BRA "Swing Jane" ads...
Then you may have spotted her as guest star on dozens of popular TV shows like "Black Scorpion" for Director Susan Tuan, or "Who's the Boss" for Director Assad Colada, or "Amazing Stories" with Director Tom Holland and John Landis' "George Burn's Comedy Week". She graced the small screen regularly in action shows like "A-Team", "Knightrider", and "Riptide." Then there was that "Love Boat" appearance...
Buuuuuut to film geeks she will always be THE BARBARIAN QUEEN, a role she created and starred in thru two pop films, and who can ever forget those 2 great kickass Boris Vallejo posters for those flicks. He painted her again on the phantastic DEATHSTALKER poster which she also starred in. She played the lead in AMAZON WOMEN ON THE MOON too. Lana was in SCARFACE, FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH, BRAINSTORM, THE JAMES DEAN PROJECT, BLIND DATE, and KUNG FU KITCHEN to name a few...
She loved meeting her fans and appeared at many of their gathering over the years... most recently at the VAMP/MONSTERS AMONG US CONVENTION on
Saturday and Sunday, Jan 4 & 5 2003 at the Radisson Hotel in LA.
We'll miss her... at least they've caught the jerk who took her from us...
