"TWO FOR TEXAS"

MR. STRIKE-OUT (sorry man - I tried and I tried to come up with a better codename for you but it just wasn’t happening. If you’ve got any better suggestions...) messaged me with some information about a new western mini-series coming to TNT. It’s called “Two For Texas”. We’re not sure yet when it’s going to air - we think January or thereabouts.

You spies are getting really good, by the way. I was doing some updating over at Harry’s page and - for the life of me - I couldn’t manage to change or improve the phrasing of a certain message enough to make it worth my effort. It was very clear, generic enough to not give away the identity of the sender, and articulate enough not to need any enhancement. Ditto MR. STRIKE-OUT’s message below. So, here it is. To quote MR. STRIKE-OUT:

"The story follows the adventures of a couple of penal colony escapees Son Holland (Scott Bairstow) and Hugh Allison (Kris Kristofferson) who are on the lam and wind up in Texas in time for the Alamo. They sign up with Sam Houston (Tom Skerrit) and have to blow a bridge to help win the battle of San Jacinto. Basically a "buddy film" there are some great performances by Bairstow and Kristofferson. Marco Rodriguez does some very good work as Santa Anna. Look for some top-of-the-line visuals by DP Connell who had just come off the re-make of “Moby Dick"

"Shot in Texas (they were in Austin for a lot of the shoot), reports from cast and crew say that this was a very happy set despite the shitty weather (they were trying to shoot a bunch of stuff in that El Nino rain and a sea of mud). Kristofferson had nothing but praise for Director Hardy. TNT spent some fairly big bucks on this one ($5million+ according to "Pennywise") which is a lot for the TV crowd. Most of the crew had just finished up on "The Newton Boys" and before that worked with John Milius on "The Rough Riders."

"A number of the crew were already signed up for a Sci-Fi project which has something to do with Indians and god-like creatures that come up out of caves in the earth to wreak havoc. According to "The Clockmaster" ((Glen Note: This is apparently a spyname given to another spy by MR. STRIKE-OUT)), there was also a lot of talk about a Stephen King flick which they had just finished called "Night Flyer" which is supposed to be dynamite!"

((Glen Note: “The Night Flier” is currently making the rounds on the various HBOs, and it is quite interesting, I think)).

THANK YOU, MR.STRIKE-OUT. Well done. Quite informative, and very much appreciated.
