Hey folks, Harry here... I love Mad Mel. Mel Gibson is just wacky and you can see in his eyes that UNHINGED off kilter coocoo clock brain of his at work on THE PASSION. Shooting the movie entirely in two dead languages with no subtitles. Heheehehee! I have faith in this project, and I know that might be corny to say given the subject, but obviously Mel's philosophy is to essentially shoot this film like a silent movie for all intents and purposes, but with full sound. What do I mean? Well, the silent filmmakers had to rely on motion and mise en cine to tell the story. Dialogue didn't even come into play. Now, if you've ever seen a great silent drama, then you know exactly how perfect this can be utilized. NOW... imagine you could hear what they're saying, but couldn't understand. However, you could gather their intent. Heck, with this story, you may even have all the dialogue memorized in your native language depending how well-versed you may or may not be. This is one of the boldest experiments out there currently. Now... Now if they only shoot ALIEN VS PREDATOR with no humans, no dialogue and no subtitles. Sigh... They're in black-and-white and even though we don't get to see too much yet, it's exciting to see Mel looking so director-like again. Echoes of "Braveheart."
