Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.
Patrick Sauriol over at Coming Attractions managed to score your first look at Thing 1 and Thing 2, characters that any fan of Dr. Seuss should recognize. We’ve seen the Cat himself a few times now, and these designs go a long way to fleshing out the look of the world.
Personally, I think anyone over the age of ten should just go ahead and skip these images or this film or any future Dr. Seuss productions, because all I seem to hear from any fanboy who grew up with the books is that this, like Ron Howard’s THE GRINCH, is simply wrong. Wrong in look. Wrong in tone. Wrong, wrong, wrong.
I think a big part of the problem is that Seuss created such an exaggerated world that trying to take these fantastic designs and render them real, carved in flesh and given form, simply doesn’t work. What should be magical becomes freaky. What should be exaggerated becomes grotesque.
