TORONTO: Anton Sirius raps about the stardust...

Harry here with the first item sent in by the radiant Anton Sirius, the faithful AICN scooper snooper from the last several Toronto Film Festivals... Here he is with a rundown on the cool types hitting town for this year's festivities... The sexiest two as far as I'm concerned are Hayao Miyazaki and David Cronenberg, but I'm weird that way... Here ya go...

Toronto 2002 Cavalcade of Pretty People

Hullo, starkinder! Time once again for my look at who to look for at the Toronto International Film Festival. It's an interesting group to be sure, and I promise not to name-drop more than is absolutely necessary as the fest progresses.

There are a number of names that are not yet confirmed, far more than usual. I can only assume this has something to do with a certain anniversary upcoming. I'll include those names too, and let the chips and plane tickets fall where they may.

Descending from Olympus – Catherine Deneuve; Sophia Loren; Michelle Pfeiffer; Bruce Campbell; Johnny Hallyday; David Cronenberg; Terry Gilliam; Hayao Miyazaki

Oh yes, you read that correctly, Miyazaki *will be here* with Spirited Away. And available for interviews.

Pretty Young Things – Liane Balaban; Alexis Bloedel; Helena Bonham Carter; Maggie Gyllenhaal; Shalom Harlow; Salma Hayek; Kate Hudson; Mandy Moore; Samantha Morton; Brittany Murphy; Molly Parker; Parker Posey; Franka Potente; Rebecca Romijn-Stamos; Leelee Sobieski; Mira Sorvino; Mena Suvari; Hilary Swank; Olivia Williams

At this point Molly Parker is a perennial co-favorite for Belle of the Ball honors simply because she's always here and starring in 142 films, but it looks to be a very tight race this year. Here are the complete odds:

Parker 3-2

Hayek 3-2

Sobieski 5-2

Balaban 3-1

Morton 5-1

Moore 8-1

Bloedel 10-1

Romijn-Stamos 10000-1 (no reflection on her- the buzz on Femme Fatale is just that bad)

Rest of field 50-1

For the Ladies (and Others) – Antonio Banderas; Wes Bentley; Pierce Brosnan; Gabriel Byrne; John Cusack; Matt Dillon; Colin Farrell; Ralph Fiennes; Patrick Fugit; Jake Gyllenhaal; Djimon Hounsou; Greg Kinnear; Heath Ledger; Aidan Quinn; Callum Keith Rennie; Jean Reno; Mickey Rourke; Jason Schwartzman; James Spader; Kiefer Sutherland; Noah Taylor; Elijah Wood

Craftspersons and Artisans – Paul Thomas Anderson; Juliette Binoche; Eric Bogosian; Catherine Breillat; Michael Caine; Willem Dafoe; Claire Denis; Olympia Dukakis; Robert Duvall; Atom Egoyan; Mike Figgis; Stephen Frears; Amos Gitai; Curtis Hanson; Todd Haynes; Dustin Hoffman; Philip Seymour Hoffman; Holly Hunter; Neil Jordan; Chen Kaige; Shekhar Kapur; Patrice Leconte; Frances McDormand; Julianne Moore; John Neville; Gaspar Noé; Nick Nolte; Francois Ozon; Pete Postlethwaite; Lynn Redgrave; Miranda Richardson; Susan Sarandon; Paul Schraeder; Jim Sheridan; Stellan Skarsgard; Julie Taymor; Tom Tykwer; Gus Van Sant; Denzel Washington; Sigourney Weaver

Funny Guys (Intentional and, Um, Not) – David Arquette; Tim Currie; Brian dePalma; Wyclef Jean; Kevin Kline; Denis Leary; Michael Moore; Adam Sandler; Campbell Scott

Time's ticking away... shall I see Ararat, or not? Decisions, decisions.
