Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.
This is a short one. I must confess that I have no interest in this film, despite my admiration for both of the Douglas’. Maybe something I see will change my mind, but for now, it smacks of “vanity project,” and that typically sends me running for the hills:
Hi guys,
First time caller, longtime listener.
I saw Michael and Kirk Douglas' new film at a roughcut preview/focus group in Boston last night. I just wanted to give you a heads up in case this is something you'd like to see in your radar.
The Royal Tenenbaums was clever and quirky because of it's uniqueness. Hollywood, a firm believer that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, couldn't let it be stand alone. It was clear that Michael Douglas did this film to allow his father to see that a stroke was not the end of the world for an actor and, to be fair, the elder Douglas has made great strides in his recovery. At the moment, the film is a little rough and needs a good editing, but it could be a nice little indie family film to remind you of Holly Hunters 'Home for the Holidays'.
Call me Brittle Dib.
Hmmm... maybe I need a trailer so I can see what you’re talking about. Maybe that would do the trick.
"Moriarty" out.
