Hey folks, Harry here... When we first started hearing about the test screenings of this movie, we were told that SWEPT AWAY was a deeply disturbing audience polarizing jet black humored mean flick.... as a remake of the original TRAVOLTI DA UN INSOLITO DESTINO NELL'AZZURO MARE D'AGOSTO should be... now... are they trying to pull a "DEAD POET'S SOCIETY" on us with this trailer? Make us happy and think that it is a rosy sweet comedy of opposites attracting style romance? Then destroy our dreams, crush our realities and suffer the consequences after we've been sold the bill of goods... Let us burn and explode on impact in this Ford Pinto of films? Well, they did do reshoots... there has been work... Maybe after they discovered the EXPLODE ON IMPACT nature of the film, they had the technicians transform it into a modest priced family car? Maybe?
Hey Harry,
I saw that sonypictures.com has put up the trailer for "Swept Away" in both streaming media and real player format. After viewing the trailer it seems Sony is trying to depict this film as being a lighthearted romantic comedy. I have seen the original Swept Away (Travolti da un insolito destino nell'azzurro mare d'agosto) by Wertmuller and it was hardly a *light* film. Perhaps they made drastic changes with all of the reshoots? Only time will tell...
