Hey folks, Harry here... Recently Miramax had a very bad test screening for THE COMEDIAN, the Jerry Seinfeld alleged stand-up movie thingee. The word we got back on the film was that a lot of people took a hike during the movie. The few people we heard from that stayed... wished they hadn't. Whew... that's tough. However, the movie does have a brilliant comedic teaser trailer. Mind you... it hasn't a frame of footage from the actual film. That the film itself isn't supposed to be a brilliant deconstructionalist satire of the stand up film, like this is as a brilliant deconstructionalist satire of a trailer for Miramax. However, if they continue on this track for the trailers... and have Mr Voice pull this shit with Jerry Seinfeld as essentially Daffy Duck in a Duck Amuck style trailer gag... they'll have a nice enough opening weekend, before the word spreads too far. I wish I could tell you this trailer was indicative of the quality of humor that is in the film, but unfortunately I'm not in that position. Sadly. But I can applaud a trailer by Miramax, that isn't for a Martin Scorsese film... That's cool!
