In an upcoming episode, likely the fourth of the second season, titled “Red”:
* A young woman named Jessie will catch Clark’s attention. She will saucily scribble her phone number on Kal-El’s superpalm.
* Lana’s Auntie Nell will sport a fiance. Said fiance has fathered a 10-year-old named Travis, who has an affinity for “Grand Theft Auto III.”
* Clark will ask Lana to take a drive with him. Or go dancing with him. When a flustered Lana asks if this is a date, Clark will respond, “I’m asking you to have some fun with me.” After Lana explains she’s babysitting Travis, Clark will comment on how sexy Lana’s nose can get when she gets all serious.
* Clark is behaving oddly because he’s under the influence of red Kryptonite. (According to “Superman” lore, red Kryptonite inflicts bizarre and unpredictable - albeit temporary and nonfatal - symptoms, as when it divides Superman into twins or transforms him into an infant or a giant ant.)
* A murderous federal marshal named Palmer will explain to a witness that he’s out to “bring in” Jessie and her father, Edward. Then Palmer will kill that witness in cold blood.
* A motorcycle-riding Clark will offer Jessie a ride. Which gets Lana’s attention. He will ask Lana out again, then give her a big wet one before she can say, “Oh yeah, baby!”
* The date happens, but Jessie turns up, and Lana is spurned, and a face gets slapped.
* Clark will confront Lex Luthor’s now-blind pop, advising the bajillionaire that “nobody in Smallville wants” him there.
* Pete and Jonathan will turn up to bring Clark to his senses. Pete seems at this point to be in on Clark’s big secret.
