The Exodus and THE COMEDIAN a story of walkouts, stupidity and Jerry Seinfeld!

Harry here... I remember Moriarty once mentioning working at a theater that was testing NORTH - which had both Jason Alexander and whatsherface... ummm Elaine in it IRONICALLY ENOUGH - and that had similar audience reactions... Is the cast of SEINFELD cursed to suck on the big screen? Do they have the post-FAT ALBERT Cosby Curse? Sounds possible... Check it out...

Last night, Miramax held a screening of Comedian, the new documentary about Jerry Seinfeld's post-Seinfeld, post-marriage standup career. Cameos by Colin Quinn, Chris Rock and Gary Shandling. You can get more info on it at this location!

I didn't get a chance to see it, but a friend that works there said it had 29 walkouts! Comments reportedly ranged from it being not funny, to slow and dragging, etc. After Bob Weinstein, the head of Miramax (his brother Harvey is in Berlin right now) poked one of his droogs in the back quite rudely and told him to ask walkouts why they were leaving, my friend said that he overheard the automaton telling Mr Gravel that one girl said she thought it was funny, but that it was too cold in the theater. I don’t think that was what Bob was expecting.

One person said they preferred to go home and watch American Idol. 29 walkouts, needless to say, is an unusually high number according to my mate that says he's never seen this many flee from a theater. The oddest things is that while a total of four people had left about a half hour into the film there came a point one hour into the film when TWENTY-FIVE people came out almost SIMULTANEOUSLY!! My friend Flyte said they were so surprised by the mass exodus that they wondered at first if they had got the running time wrong and the movie was over.

After the questionnaires were counted, questionnaires whose first question asks the viewer if they would rate it Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair or Poor, only 8 people out of somewhere between 250-300 people gave it an "Excellent."

Flyte said there were three malnourished unpaid people who had to stand outside the auditorium while the questionnaires were handed out, to catch people who try to flee without filling one out. As a guy in a black baseball cap passed, one of these monkeys tried to give him one, not realizing that it was Jerry Seinfeld. He tried to brush it off, and the other simps alerted 'Cornelius', but in retrospect, maybe he should’ve filled one out. It’ might’ve improved the overall results.

All right, enough. ENOUGH! It's not a god, it's not a devil. It's just a fucking animal, and any living thing can be killed.

And from a chap that actually witnessed the ordeal comes this.... whew....

I got a sneak preview of the Seinfeld movie Comedian last night. If you're expecting a ton of laughs during this movie, you can forget it. It was a cable documentary at best. The movie basically follows Jerry Seinfeld around as he tries out new material and restarts his standup career. It culminates with him going to Broadway. The only problem is that instead of telling jokes, the movie shows his development of the material. We're basically left without the punchline. The bright spot in the movie was Orny Adams. He's another comedian that the director follows as his career begins to take off. The guy is extremely pompous, which actually lightens the mood of the film. Just thought I'd pass on info about the film. By the way, the people running the preview should realize that the audience is doing them a favor by watching the film and filling out a survey. We gave you 2 1/2 hours of our time. Leave the attitude at home!
