Well folks, here I am up in Washington D.C. Just got back from the SMITHSONIAN Presentation/Talk and I think I did a pretty damn good job. I answered tons of questions and people really seemed to love the esoteric films I was showing. I really can not stress how utterly surreal it is to speak and show films at the Smithsonian. Standing there ya just get the shakes, but I worked em into the routine and weathered it. I may or may not write the whole deal up, it just depends if I have time in between all the moments I'm busy with right now. My proudest moment of the night was talking about Ray Harryhausen and Busby Berkeley, and then presenting both to an audience that was about 90% unfamiliar with them. The looks in their eyes, it was electric. I can not believe I did what I did tonight. I'm still in shock. I'm just trying to deal with it, after walking around the place all day long I felt a bit like Klaatu. I traveled all over the Mall area and I could just hear Herrmann's score playing, of course the portable CD player probably helped, but that's besides the point. Afterwards I talked with the Programmer Person and she wants me to come back and basically do a multinight film fest at a bigger venue, I'm dying. The concept of showing my prints to audiences up here is electrifying...
ANYWAY, that's all beside the point. Below are the reviews of my father, RoRo and Quint of SAVING PRIVATE RYAN. All three loved it, in addition ROBOGEEK and JOHNNY WAD loved it. They are writing reviews, and if they were faster typist they would be on the page, but since they aren't... well I'll have to put them up in the morning. As I'm Real Tired. I'll edit up a bunch of news when I get back home, there's a lot to spill, it is just very difficult to type on this tiny ass keyboard.
