This Saturday at the Alamo Drafthouse AICN Presents: George Pal's TIME MACHINE & Stuart Gordon's DAGON!!!!

Hey folks, Harry here... This Saturday at the Alamo Drafthouse, I'm going to be having a grand ol time. First at noon, I get to have a full theater of kids of all shapes and sizes for a screening of George Pal's amazing TIME MACHINE! Then a mere 5 hours later, I'll be back with Stuart "RE-ANIMATOR" Gordon in person for a screening of DAGON! Now what is special about this, beside the fact that Stuart "SPACE TRUCKERS" Gordon is going to be there, is that DAGON isn't getting a theatrical release in the United States because... Well we live in a world that treats horror films like shit, but not at the Alamo Drafthouse. This screening will be a blast. Stuart is one of the most warm and wonderful people you'll ever get a chance to meet. Now, while I'd love to just give tickets to all of you for this event... I can't, due to the fact that well... The Alamo has to pay for stuff, so I have 10 tickets to give away to the first 10 people that email Tim League with the first sentence from H.P. Lovecraft's original short story... DAGON. Otherwise, buy your tickets at the link below... This'll be a helluva good time...

Stuart Gordon Live in Person! DAGON!
Saturday, June 29, 7:00 PM

Screening presented by Ain't It Cool News

Legendary cult filmmaker Stuart Gordon will be live in person for the Texas premiere of his latest film DAGON.

Based on the HP Lovecraft novel "The Shadow of Innsmouth," Dagon begins with a boating accident off the coast of Spain which sends a young couple to the decrepit fishing village of Imboca looking for help. As night falls, people start to disappear, things not quite human start to appear, and the dark, bizzare secrets of this eerie town begin to come into focus.

Dagon finds Stuart Gordon at the top of his form. With a great Lovecraft story as its backbone; beautiful, creepy locations and characters, and great timing and suspense, Dagon scores on all levels. The hugely personable Stuart Gordon will be live in person for a Q&A following the film, which, if based on his past appearances at the Alamo, should be worth the price of admission alone. Be sure to ask him about his merkin wrangling days.

FREE ADMISSION FOR KIDS AND ACCOMPANYING ADULTS

(1960, d. George Pal, 103 min, G) In England during the late 1880s, George, an inventor completes a machine to span the dimension of time. Demonstrating its capabilities to Dr Hillyer, he shoots through the future, not realizing that his fabulous Victorian invention will be a dinosaur in the modern age. We should be in the midst of Time Machine 2002 at the time of this screening, so we offer up this selection as a friendly compare and contrast. We hope in 40 years, Hollywood has not forgotten the charms of the original.
