Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.
I don’t know enough about this story to do anything except tell you to believe that this letter came from the heart. I know Jennifer, and she’s not only a wonderful illustrator in her own right, but she’s also a genuine fan of animation and comics. There’s no ulterior motive at work here besides her admiration of a fellow artist and a desire to help in a difficult time. When you have a forum as large as this one, sometimes this is exactly what it’s for. Here’s Jennifer to explain further:
Something shook the online comics community recently. I hope this reaches AICN Comics.
I don't know how many of you are familiar with the work of comics veteran William Messner-Loebs. He's worked in the comics industry for 27 years, writing and drawing the independent comics JOURNEY and BLISS ALLEY, scripting the early issues of Sam Kieth's THE MAXX, and writing for both Marvel and DC (FLASH, DR. FATE, THOR, WONDER WOMAN, REQUIEM, IMPULSE). He also wrote EPICURUS THE SAGE (drawn by Sam Kieth).
Through a combination of misfortunes (a slow work period combined with illness, hard times and what one poster called a "double-dealing" bank), he lost his home.
Here’s the initial "press release".
This is about the need for money to cover rent and medical.
Here’s the donation and contact information.
To quote Bill's wife, Nadine, from that second post:
"We are being turned down left and right for renting a house or apartment and even to move into a trailer park. We could use any amount of cash right now to give us leverage with the banks."
A PayPal account for William Loebs has been set up for online donations.
People without PayPal accounts are sending checks made out to "William F. Loebs" directly to:

eBay auctions are also being made to raise funds for the Loebs, including a rare Alex Toth book which you can bid on here.
Here's some of the other items up for sale:
If none of this is appropriate content for AICN, please forward it to AICN Comics (I couldn't find an email address for AICN Comics). At the very least, AICN Comics readers may have interest in the ongoing eBay auctions.
Thank you for your time.

Thank you, Jen. Here’s hoping things ease up for this guy soon. With people like you looking out for him, I have a feeling he’ll be okay.
"Moriarty" out.
