Well this is interesting as hell, I've been a gigantic Sam Kieth fan ever since I met him at a DALLAS FANTASY FAIR and he did a mean ol snarly Batman pencil drawing in my sketch book. At the time I was ignorant of who he was or what he had done. His table merely stated Sam Kieth (Batman Artist), I had just gotten back into fandom after the ranch experiences so I didn't know which book he was working on, but from his artwork I knew I would love a have a sketch. He did a wonderful one. And ever since I've followed him, from book to book, to the McFarlane MAXX toy, and if filmmaking is where this amazingly talented man is headed... well... Dammit, I'll follow him there as well. Here's a report of Sam Kieth's film projects in development...
hey harry,
Just recieved this info and it seems reliable. Sam Kieth the writer and artist of the comic book THE MAXX has a few movies in the cards. It seems Roger Corman is getting him to write and direct a low budget movie in Ireland about a boy with a metal arm for about one million dollars.
The other movie is shooting is his Library Girl story about a young girl growing up into womanhood. Fans of the book will know what's it about. He's shooting it in sacremento for about a hundred grand.
And I have saved the best for last there is talks of doing a Broadminded movie staring Dennis Hooper. This who he wants for Charlie, so we have to wait and see what Hopper thimks of the script. No word on who would play Ira. This all came from Sam on the Maxx list.
-be seeing you,
the hooly
