Hey folks, Harry here... Personally I hope Ronny Yu pans out on this project. Many directors have been attached and suddenly unattached on this troubled project over the years. There is no telling what script they've gone with (THERE HAVE BEEN SO MANY). However, Ronny Yu did a spectacular job with BRIDE OF CHUCKY and I dearly love his BRIDE WITH WHITE HAIR film. Seeing what he would do with this could be quite a bit of fun. Also Darth Mario tells me that RHYTHM & HUES is currently bidding on becoming the effects company to bring this crazed film to life. Still a rumor, but here ya go...
Harry,
I had lunch with a friend yesterday who informed me that that Ronny Yu (Bride w/ White Hair, Bride of Chucky, 51st State) has just signed on to direct Freddy vs. Jason.
Might be false, but he is a much better choice than Paul Anderson.
Thanks
Meanwhile, from Hong Kong we hear that Kenneth Tsang has been cast in the FREDDY VS JASON film. As a long time fan of Kenneth from A BETTER TOMORROW and PEKING OPERA BLUES and ONCE A THIEF. This at least seems to indicate that there is some movement on the project...
Hello Harry
first all I am big fan of your website and like very much your updates on film industry.
I have news for you if it's apliable.
Kenneth Tsang, one of my country's greatest talents, appeared on ATV here in HK. He, as you might know, was seen in "Rush Hour 2" and before that in several local films like "Jin xiu qian cheng" and "Jing cha gu shi III: Chao ji jing cha (Police Story no 3).
He did talk about his usual role of bad villain in several films, particularly his U.S films, and says next he will do "something completely different".
He says he has a large part in the new Freddy Krueger film, to be filmed in the states. It will have both Freddy and Jason (of Friday the 13th in them). He will be "an authority figure/mediator" in it, who's relatively 'normal' (laughs he does).
I'm sure this of interest to horror movie fans.
Che.
P.S - great site.
