Oh wow... These images that Sir Etch-A-Sketch e-ed in are just too friggin cool. I'm in awe. Like I said earlier, I love pencils, and the dynamics here are just so strong. Check out the raw-ness of the HANDS in that one. Or the classic pose of the first one. Man, if they do this stuff and nail it, I'm going to freak out. Rosie O'Donnell has me nervous, she could ruin it for me, but right now, I'm so excited I could give a flying fu...fun-filled trip to wonkerville. Sir Itch-A-Sketch back again! Glad ya had the balls to show them Dinosaurs, and as a result you are going to get a
look at TARZAN. That is right, the King of the Jungle. I have to tell you Harry, this feels to me, to be the coolest thing
we here at the Mouse House have going on. When you hear Phil's main song for the film, you will fall instantly in love. It's
a classic, not at all like the shit in KINGDOM OF THE SUN, damn Llama song, it's so depressing you will ponder what could have been
had they merely held to their guns and studied a bit more about Incan Mythology and History, but hey our brains went with Jeffery. Though
he was a bit of a megalomaniac imho. TARZAN is the project JK would have loved. With the exception of the Rosie O'Donnell ape (what a stretch) this
project is stunning. When you see the way the MAYA program allowed to wrap digital tree trunks with hand painted paintings... you will without a
doubt drool Harry.
This time out me boy, I have included a package of mainly pencils in this e-mail. Due to you're impassioned "I LOVE PENCILS" tirade you went on the other
day. Take a look at that Hogarth looking one. Glenn Keane's work on TARZAN is nothing short of spectacular. Hopefully it will translate all the way when brought to cell life.
Not much of that is done, the cel work that is, but personally this is my pick to put Disney atop after Prince of Egypt knocks the shit out of us. I can't believe
we are acting like assholes and crowding little JK's flicks. Most animators feel the market is big enough to support animated films if they were spread out, but this
crowding nonsense does nothing but hurt the entire industry. I wish someone could talk sense, but the higher ups here at Disney are so worried about their glass slipper
being taken that they are piling up projects all around Dreamworks' so they can't get a foothold. Damn Nasty if you ask me. Sure we can kick a new companies ass, but shouldn't we just
concentrate on making better movies? Listen to me, a marketing fella with a conscience, there must really be a Santa Claus.
Trust me on this one Harry, this TARZAN project, FANTASIA 2000, DINOSAURS and ATLANTIS will kick your dreamy animation worshipping ass. KINGDOM OF THE SUN will make you blow raspberries.
