I don't know anymore about this, but perhaps someone out there does. It sounds like a real... ugga bugga Carmeggadon style mayhem r us sorta flick. I'm curious to learn more personally... how about you? I mean we haven't seen a maniac car flick in a long time. IT's about time we had one.
Just had to let you know about a project I just heard about that Fox is putting together. I won't say how, but my sinister hands found themselves holding a treatment for a film now being put together by Fox called DRIVE. Simply put, it's the coolest thing I've ever read, and hopefully the folks at Fox will have the sense to actually turn it into a movie.
Briefly, it's the story of a guy who gets sucked into the world of illegal street racing in cities around the world. No ordinary drag races these -- we're talking races through the streets of LA, NY, Paris, Rio and Monte Carlo, in incredible cars (porsches, ferarri's, hummers, bentley's, etc) with no rules. All of the cars are outfitted with some kind of camera system that shows the races live on giant video monitors for millionaires to bet on, and there are helicopters flying above who "spot" for the drivers. The story is about a guy named "Boyd Cameron" who becomes a driver for the racket running these races, and is then trapped between the mob and the FBI who want him to inform for them, but with an incredible twist (a SPOILER I won't reveal). This is the ultimate car movie! This is what Tony Scott SHOULD have done instead of that horrible piece of drek Days of THunder! I CANT WAIT TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!! I don't know who is in it, or if there's even a director involved, but it's definitely something to keep your eye on.
