Hey folks, Harry here... Well Tarantino is moving forward quickly with all of his casting. Vivica Fox, who is probably best known for her role as Will Smith's gal in INDEPENDENCE DAY, though frankly I wish everybody knew her for her fantastic work in SOUL FOOD, a massively under-appreciated movie that I adore. Well Vivica Fox has been cast as Vernita Green aka COBRA, the first of The Bride's ex-compatriots to taste her revenge. This is the most conventional of the battles, but still brutal. With Vivica being cast, we now know that Daryl Hannah will be playing Elle Driver aka CALIFORNIA MOUNTAIN SNAKE and Lucy Liu as O-Ren Ishii as COTTONMOUTH. The Bride was known as BLACK MAMBA. With Michael Madsen playing Bud aka SIDEWINDER, that fills out the original assassin team that Bill, to be played by David Carradine, was in charge of.
Also joining the cast according to Hollywood Reporter two others have joined the cast. First is Michael Jai White, most well known for his part in SPAWN, but whom was truly fantastic in THICK AS THIEVES. He's signed on to play Alburt, but for the life of me, I can't even began to remember who this character was.
Next is LaTanya Richardson. She's been fantastic in many films, usually in wonderful supporting roles. Here she's playing L.F. O'Boyle, and that character, if memory serves plays a pivotal character that lends medical assistance when it is most needed. This is a wonderful scene during the YUKI'S REVENGE chapter of the film. LaTanya is also in reality Samuel L Jackson's lovely wife.
In all it seems that Quentin is continuing to cast really cool people in the film. Unfortunately he cut Mr Barrell out of the script, I would have loved to have seen who he would've cast as that character. Who he casts as Yuki and Go Go Yubari... the Yubari sisters. Folks, adding Sonny Chiba as Hattori Hanzo and Quentin Tarantino with the help of KNB's makeup wizards becoming Pei Mei.... Well folks, this is going to be something special. I can't wait to see this sucker and it all starts shooting this summer.
