Ok, first off I can not vouch for this 'RUMOR' at all, but there is a source out there that can tell me one way or another, or find out further information on this, I put this in their hands, they know who they are...Miles of info this person has. Just to let you know I have also had the wild email this week from someone that claims Lucas visited Kubrick during EYES WIDE SHUT and asked about Kubrick directing, and Kubrick was claimed to be thinking it over. I get stuff like this ALL THE TIME, and I have to say I consider it to be completely untrue until I get confirmation. So bounch it around and speculate away, hopefully the kid that lives in Cameron's mouth can tell me, cause frankly this would be the most kickass possible person to do Episode 2 in my opinion, but would Lucas relinquesh the control that Cameron would want? Probably not, I don't know... Stay tuned for more...
I'm a long time reader, but never before sent anything. As a working writer in hollywood I've come across some dooseys but this is the first time I've been compelled to put keyboard to email, as it were.
During dinner with my agent the other night, the subject of Star Wars came up, mostly references to various business aspects of Lucasfilm etc.. At the end of dinner, my trusted and long time representative stunned me with news that he had recently been privvy to. His agency represents many major below the line talent DP's, editors, production designers etc.. and it seems that during the course of crewing some of the major participants for the next prequel film (#2) word got to a few of their clients that JAMES CAMERON was slated to direct.
Now, this man has been a trusted agent of mine for 4 years now, and I have never known him to speak without some measure of certainty.
How totally awesomely cool could that possibly be?
