Enterprise 1.18 FAQ
What’s it called?
"Rogue Planet."
Who’s responsible?
Teleplay is credited to Chris Black (“Xena,” “Cleopatra 2525”).
What does TV Guide say?
“The crew explores a jungle planet that's been turned into a hunting ground by a race of stalkers called the Eska. There, a shadowy woman makes contact with Archer.”
What is TV Guide not telling us?
The woman who makes makes contact with Archer is young, beautiful, blonde, speaks English, seems familiar to Archer, knows Archer’s name, wears a nightgown and appears to be human.
The big news?
Fans of “Angel” may feel uneasy every time the lead stalker speaks – he’s played by the same actor who essays the vampire hunter Holtz.
Is this race of stalkers anything like those Hirojin fellows introduced on “Voyager.”
These hunters are a bit friendlier. They even allow Reed to accompany them on an expedition.
Reed hunts?
Reed observes. Someone observes that hunting fell out of fashion on Earth around the time the Vulcans made first contact.
Does T’Pol invite the blonde into the decon chamber?
Only Archer gets to meet her.
What’s good?
T’Pol’s keenly observed comment about a “scantily-clan man.”
What’s not so good?
This one falls into the “too simplistic” pile. Everybody who saw McCoy chase after Alice and the White Rabbit in “Shore Leave” – or met Kirk’s prettiest gulag-mate in “Star Trek VI” – will not likely have a lot of trouble putting together what’s going on, and long before the captain does. Also, there’s some off-puttingly clunky computer-generated imagery involved.
How does it end, spoiler boy?
Major spoiler ahead. Inviso-text on: Archer watches as his new girlfriend turns into a giant flatworm.
Herc’s rating for “Enterprise” 1.18?
**1/2
The Hercules T. Strong Rating System:
That’s it? Why is this review so short?
Herc spent way too much time last night at Harry Knowles’ Los Angeles book-signing shindig, hypnotized by Loriele New, the “Practice” guest star who wrote in last week:
