Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.
I know this was covered in our AICN-Anime column, but this is bigger news than that. This shouldn't be buried, as Robogeek put it, in the middle of a column. This deserves a headline. And I reserve the right to hate every single person who gets to attend this.
Miyazaki's latest film is finally being shown in America, damn it.
SPIRITED AWAY will have its North American Premiere at the Castro Theater during this year's San Francisco International Film Festival on Saturday, April 20 at 6:30pm (and will screen again on Sunday, April 21 at 11am).
You can read about it here!!
This was the e-mail that first tipped me off to the screening:
Folks in the Northern California Bay Area will be getting a real treat. Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away will be shown as part of the upcoming San Francisco Film festival on April 20th and 21st. The schedule has not been announced yet (that happens March 26), but the Castro Theatre's website shows the films that will be playing there and they are listing Spirited Away as "in Japanese with English subtitles". According to a recent report on AICN, Spirited Away will be released in the U.S. in July with English dubbing. Here will be a chance to see it in advance by at least 3 months, and in Japanese. Like I said a real treat. To get the info on the showing, CLICK HERE!! and for info on the San Fran Film Fest, CLICK HERE!!

Thanks, Otis. Thanks, Robogeek. Now what sort of excuse do I have to be in San Francisco next month? Hmmmmmmm...
