The same people possibly bringing us AMERICAN PSYCHO, a production company called LION'S GATE is bringing my pick for Best Film I've seen this year to the screen later this year.
On October 30th (just in time for Halloween) LION'S GATE will be releasing exclusively for New York and Los Angeles, my best film of the year, GODS & MONSTERS. The film I literally ran out of the theater to scream the title to the world. I have been on pins and needles awaiting this news. I mean hear we have the film containing the future Oscar winner for Best Actor, Ian McKellan and the possible future Supporting Actress winner Lynn Redgrave.
I am told that LION'S GATE will be launching a very significant Oscar campaign for all involved, including Bill Condon's amazing adapted screenplay. I believe the film gets a wider release around the holidays, though they may save it for awards time. I can not believe I'll see a better acting performance than Ian's in GODS & MONSTERS this year, he is perfect.
