Well it seems Universal has cut a PSYCHO remake trailer that made at least one geek happy. The day they make a trailer for the PSYCHO remake that makes Hallenbeck happy though... that'll be a miracle. Sigh... Why remake perfection? To see if it's possible? To make a fool of yourself? Personally I think it's a realllly bad idea, but hey whatever, I love Van Sant.... we'll see.
Randall here. Saw Armageddon. Twas really good. But that's not important now. What is important is previews. What'd we see? Mask of Zorro. Bleh! How many fuckin times will I have to see this preview? Small Soldiers. Oooh! Looks.. interesting! Enemy of the State. Wow, this looks really damn good!
Then I saw it. The best preview I will see all summer, unless I get an Antz preview or, god forbid, a Prequel teaser. I got so excited that Denni (my girlfriend) almost screamed because she was unfortunate enough to be attached to one of the hands I was holding, a hand that was all of a sudden in intense pain and the person administering the pain (me) didn't even realize it.
The Universal logo comes up. I say "Ooo!" It's nothing but darkness for a second, then I hear a very familiar voice say "Nobody comes around here much anymore." I only get a half a second to think "Who does that voice belong to?" Then Anthony Perkins says "They moved the highway away." That's when Denni almost screamed, because I realized I was seeing a preview for the Psycho remake, and, bless their little hearts, they were showing scenes from THE ORIGINAL. The only mention of the remake players was at the previews end when they said something about Gus Vant Sant recreating the nightmare that started it all (some idiot behind me said "Texas Chainsaw Massacre?" I need to see the preview again because I was practically falling out of my seat I was so excited, I didn't hear a whole lot of the middle stuff) then the names Vince Vaughn and Julianne Moore came up. The preview ended with "The classic story of a boy and his mother." The only time I ever get chills that bad is when Mother says "I hope they are watching. Why, she wouldn't even hurt a fly!" Oooo god this had better be good. I like Vince and all but.. .well shrug, we'll see.
