Wanna see and possibly meet George Lucas?

Ok you Tri-State Geeks, and east-coasters, you wanna meet your personal god, or at least get withing 500 yards of him. Then read below. This is an event of a lifetime for ye geeks. I know I'd sacrifice eating for 2 whole days to be there, and that's awfully painful to me. If anyone would like to fly me and Glen and pay our way, we would say THANKS DUDE. Thanks for you kind consideration. (yes this is pitiful groveling) And best wishes may you see the "master".

George Lucas will be making a rare public appearance this month. (Wow, I heard the geekgasms from here.) Uncle George will be in Washington, D.C. on October 29 to talk (with Lucasfilm, ILM, and Skywalker Sound folks) about the making of the Trilogy. Hopefully he'll talk a little bit about the prequels, too.

The appearance is in conjunction with the Smithsonian Institution: the Air and Space Museum will be opening its new _Star Wars_ exhibition on October 31. A documentary prepared for that exhibition will air at the Lucasfilm to-do.

The shindig's at Lisner Auditorium (21st St., NW) in D.C., at 3PM. October 29th is a Wednesday, so shuffle your schedule, Washington-area geeks...

Cost of admission: $25 for members of the Smithsonian Associates; $35 for non-members. For information, see http://www.si.edu/tsa ; the phone number for tickets is (202) 357-3030.
