Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.
Oh, man... can you imagine having your own submarine? You could drive to work in it... if you happen to work underwater, I suppose. Or you could, um... well... okay, so owning a submarine would be a bit useless for most of us. But someone out there must want their very own sub, right? Especially one that's in a movie. A Harrison Ford movie. I mean... come on!
Here's the details, which Turizzmo and many others were good enough to send along this morning:
Good day from Nova Scotia - long time reader and first time information messenger - saw an ad in today's local paper here in Halifax that I thought might pique your
interest. If you have any room in the labs for a rather large bathtub toy, there's a decaying Russian submarine here in Halifax harbour that the city is trying to get rid
of.....yes, you guessed it - the sub used in the filming of K-19: The Widowmaker is currently trying to find a new home. Apparently it was supposed to be towed to Portland
Maine to be used as a museum, but those plans have apparently fallen through.
